Enrichment Opportunities

Clubs, Trips, PERFORMANCES and Sports Fixtures...

At Lakelands we offer a broad range of clubs and other enrichment opportunities and trips such as theatres, Universities, museums, city visits and The Duke of Edinbrugh Bronze and Silver Awards.  Such opportunities provide our students with skills beyond those within the national curriculum, which can enhance their communication, analytical team building and leadership skills as well as give a more rounded view of life outside of the Academy. There are also many faculty in house events, such as visiting theatre groups and guest speakers as well as school collaborations such as story writing events with the local primary schools and many inter school sporting fixtures in a whole range of sports. Clubs and activities are constantly being added to, so students should also look at the digital notice boards in reception and Faculty notice boards. Its not too late to join in.

Extra-curricular timetables are available via our weekly 'Lakelands Look Ahead' sheet which is displayed around school as well as being sent to parents/carers and posted on our social media each Friday ready for the following week. This sheet has tables of information about:

  • Clubs and Enrichment: day, time, year group(s), venue and staff member(s) responsible for all clubs and activities taking place the following week.

  • Calendar Events: any important events from the school calendar for the following week.

  • On the Horizon: any important events from the school calendar beyond the following week but within the term.

  • Supporting Our Community: community events/activities taking place.

Please speak to you form tutor or subject teachers about any clubs or activities that you might be interested in that are not currently offered.
