Special Educational Needs or Disability - SEND
SENDCO: Ms Warren
We are passionate in our belief that every child matters, and use a range of interventions, strategies and support to address identified underlying learning difficulties.
We have a large team of dedicated teaching assistants, many of whom have developed expertise in a variety of support areas such as screening for scotopic sensitivity, dyslexia support etc. Each statemented student is assigned a key worker and many students are supported at school action plus or school action have a key helper. These teaching assistants support and build up relationships with the students. It is these relationships that form the bedrock for success, not only in terms of academic progress, but also in helping each student to develop confidence, independence and self –belief. Parents and carers play a pivotal role, we welcome suggestions and feedback. We seek to work together with parents to help our students maximize the benefits from the support they receive.
